CAMBRIA Restoration Diary: Full Story
June Restoration News
Our monthly photograph shows a view looking forward from the transom and clearly shows most of the deck beams in place. The beams were shaped with a 10" camber and are fastened down into the inner wales with 20mm galvanised bolts.
The main steel keelson has been enlarged at each end by the addition of heavy steel plates welded together and extended into the bow and stern areas.
The forward entry shape has been prepared and set by the master shipwright and is now ready for planking. This will commence after the fitting of the new stem.
