Sara Crescent, Greenhithe
One of our Barge visitors once commented that now that the Everard’s base in Greenhithe had been built over, some of the street names locally have been given barge-related names. He mentioned Sara Crescent, so just for a bit of fun, I plugged that into a well known on-line map tool and yes, indeed, there is a Sara Crescent. I could find no other barge-named streets around and about although there are, in the close vicinity, a Smugglers Wharf, Skippers Close, Maritime Close and Watermans Way (not an apostrophe to be had between them, but maybe they are there on the road signs!), Pier Road and Quay Lane.
