August 30th: The official opening of Baltic House

On the Saturday of the Faversham Hop Festival, the Cambria Trust celebrated its first anniversary of arriving at Standard Quay. What a successful first year we have enjoyed in Faversham! Cambria joins the Open House scheme

For the first three Saturdays in July, Cambria joined the Faversham Society's Open house scheme, when many private buildings are made open for viewing. The Cambria Trust allowed visitors to view the Cambria Centre and showed several hundred people the progress in the restoration of the barge. Local schools come aboard

During the past few weeks, Cambria and the Visitors Centre have been host to a variety of students. The Abbey school Faversham have made three separate visits involving year seven history students who will be following the rebuild of Cambria as part of their curriculum. Two groups from the NW Kent College wood working section visited with the prospect of joining the shipwright course, which we hope to be running with the same college on Standard Quay. ...
